How do you shift

Not sure if youre asking specifically how i shift or how to shift in general? But ill answer both!

How to shift:

Id recommend looking at blogs/videos etc of people who shift! Some post their shifting routine or advice! You can go in tags on tumblr and you'll find plenty of blogs with tons of info! Youtube has some great videos as well! I also made a small shifting informational notion if that might help too?

To start, everyones shifting journey and experiences are different and can vary a lot. What may work for me may not work for you!

Theres awake and sleep methods, most people start off/prefer asleep methods. Visualize, affirm, believe.

Visualize- Don't try to see every detail of a person or moment, just feel. Making props to look/listen to can help at this stage. (Playlists for characters/moments, notes, letters etc)

Affirm- You are a master shifter, shifting is easier than you think it is, you are pure consciousness not attached to any one reality, nothing is holding you back from shifting. Affirm, affirm...affirm. i say all of those affirmations plus a few more. I repeat them a dozen billion times as I'm falling asleep.

Believe- You don't necessarily have to believe but pretend you do. You're already in your dr. You have already shifted...you shift constantly.

It's good to know where you're shifting and some general info about yourself or the reality, though i suppose it isn't required? Your conscience knows what you want. You only need the intention. You really don't need anything else but sometimes methods will help! There are plenty of shifting subliminals and videos, guides etc to use and if anyone wants some recs i dont mind making a post/sending something privately! Just gotta ask.

How i shift:

If i know im going to shift later that night then i like to think about my dr throughout the day! Like ill think about memories, things ive scripted, arguments, confessions, embarrassing moments, things with high emotions! I play the whole thing out in my head., thinking of how ill react/how i did react etc.

I also try to think about my brother in my dr and what we are going to do for the day! More recently i try to think of what we are going to learn in class, what im doing after class, what spells i have to practice etc! Ill do affirmations and also reciting information about myself throughout the day. But ill do it in a way that im introducing myself or is casual instead of reciting what i wrote down if that makes sense.

So ill say something like "im basra pettigrew, this is my younger brother....." or smthn along those lines

Now theres two different ways i normally shift when im home. One is just acting like im already there and speaking to my dr siblings. Having affirmed all day and set intentions throughout i wont do it again at home since im already in my dr! Basically gaslighting myself into thinking im there!

The other way is similar except i do affirm and ill go through information/props ive made :)

Like for example, ive written some of the notes we've passed in class down! I ofc don't remember word for word but it's the general vibe/words of the convo. Ill go through moodboards ive made, quotes ive saved, and in general consume any content about wherever im shifting. Once I'm ready for bed i get comfortable and say my usual affirmations. As im starting to lose consciousness ill say goodnight to my siblings in my dr and act how would in my dr if i was going to bed!

Normally I'll hear my dr brother moving around as I'm falling asleep and it confirms to me that I'm there. Though I did script that whenever i shift i smell Peter's shampoo or that i taste chocolate! Thats another way i know ive shifted :) (You can also use something similar to make you believe youve shifted...therefore helping you shift! Like eating chocolate bfr bed or spraying cologne/lighting a candle etc which ive done bfr and it worked for me) Sometimes I'll shift with the lucid method too. Not sure what it's called but where I'm lucid dreaming, I'll use it as a doorway of sorts. Also I don't get a lot of 'symptoms' when shifting, i have before but only two or three times so I don't pay too much attention to that.

I don't use subliminals as much as i used to (if at all these days) i just tell myself I'm going to shift tonight, no matter what im shifting and nothing can stop me from doing so. And well...it works 🤷🏻‍♀️

-victory is both frusturated and concerned by vagabond's general depressiveness, they are very depressed and not doing great either, but they express this in other ways (read: violence)

-however if they found out about his past they would not judge, they have done things they are not proud of either. they can't say if he's changed (dont know him well enough) or if they themself have changed either, so they dont judge

-and, theres a lot they would relate to vagabond on, like bad experiences w factions and the "good guys" not being so good, and just generally being neutrals who wandered around a bit

-victory would probably quite enjoy his company, they are quite quiet after the main events of the story too, and its nice to hang out with someone who doesnt really know them too well, doesnt expect anything of them, and doesnt really make any particular judgements either. they feel so defined by everything thats happened in the past, its hard to be anyone else now

-its kinda weirdly refreshing to meet someone as sad, complex, and generally kinda miserable as them who also feels like he has no one and no support system. i don't think theres gonna be much talkin to each other till later, but they have, i guess, a quiet understanding of each other... the past is very complicated but with someone who gets that but is otherwise a stranger, there can be a little bit of peace ..

-if they met on the lost light they would bond over being the strangers/outcasts/being judged by others

-if they met somehow djd ending peaceful tyranny 2 victory would actually welcome vagabond abord if he wanted, they kinda have a lot of sympathy for anyone just sort of drifting around alone with no one to care about them, thats who they were once and other peoples kindness saved them. im not sure if vagabond would accept the offer, but victory would definitely extend it after some ambiguous adventures together

do you know any good free spanish courses out there? im doing some of the busuu course bc it helped me quite a bit w pt but it seems to lean somewhat towards eu spanish than latin american spanish which is what im going for (sorry im sure you've already answered this, you were just the first person i thought of that learned esp as a foreign language)

in terms of busuu, ill add that their portuguese also leaned a bit towards european portuguese at times (which was part of why i stopped using it-- also bc the focus on travel vocab was not helpful for me personally)

for spanish, i learned it in school growing up, so unfortunately i don't have a ton of recommendations for self-study/online free courses. i have some stuff in my language learning tag that might help, but i don't have any personal experience with those methods since i learned it in a fairly straightforward academic setting and also by proxy of living in sd. i know some of the resources ive reblogged before do have some solid testimonies from folks, and if anyone else has recommendations, feel free to send them.

i will say that in terms of language learning in an academic setting, i do personally find that kind of structure helpful, especially in terms of accountability, but i think any method that involves consistent practice and some level of immersion (this can mean talking to native speakers or consuming a lot of media in your target language) is beneficial regardless. i got a really strong basis for language learning across the board (vocabulary for certain things, understanding roots and parts of speech, etc.) partially through having a really strong foundation in english and through how i initially learned spanish, and in my opinion it's made every language ive learned since far easier than it would have been otherwise. i was lucky that i really enjoy language learning and have always had an interest in it and my teachers were pretty solid most of the time and helped to create that foundation. ill add here that a lot of u.s. americans (and from what ive seen, plenty of other english speakers) don't learn certain terms that describe language functions and that makes it more difficult to learn any other languages-- my first spanish teacher had to teach us all what a preterite was, for example, and i still don't know most tense names in english, only in spanish 😭

i would suggest finding at least one textbook to use alongside any other methods (there are free ones linked in my tag) so that you have some clear direction and explanation of concepts, in case that isn't present in other resources.

also my biggest rec is always to find something you really enjoy and take part in it in your target language; if that means music, there is no shortage of music in spanish, if it means tv shows or movies or even setting whatever game you're playing in spanish, you can do that. i always recommend, once you get to a certain level, trying to read a book you've read before in your target language-- that means you'll be pretty familiar with the english and will make reading through it easier, plus you'll pick up new vocab for things you're familiar with already. and of course there's always watching streams. if you want to learn how to swear possibly more than anyone else on this planet, you can watch roier 🩷 please don't talk to strangers like how he talks though 😭 ill never forget foolish calling rubius a pendejo and him being like does he fucking hate me...

again they're like velcro around each other so i think they always hold each other when sleeping,, its v. comforting for both of them!!! i went thru my art tag and ive literally drawn them snoozing like 9 quintillion times and kinda similar each time,,,, the comfy cozies,,,

also really liking the hc that space kickers are kinda catlike in some ways so maybe sometimes Joe wakes up and like. his arms numb because Ziggy's curled up like a cat and is lying on it or Ziggy's sprawled out in the most bizarre sleeping position possible.

When they first meet Joe is still living in the basement and they meet behind Senior's back, so they pretty much have to spend all their time out and about! which they both enjoy. When they move in together I still think they do a lot of fun things together out and about :) especially bc I imagine Ziggy's place is in the middle of a big city w lots of stuff to do!! and they also play for the same football team! but I think they're both good at looking at each other and deciding to skip a plan/social gathering

football :)))) Ziggy teaches Joe how to play, Joe teaches Ziggy to be happy w/ doing the sport for fun and not professionally (Zig had 2 retire early when he was young)! I think they also like to watch football games together (either at the stadium or on tv)!! also I think there's a market (like a night market!!) near where they live so they visit there quite often. ohhh and stargazing sniffle

Another hc I've thought already abt before is they have different sleep schedules, partially because they're different species! Ziggy goes to sleep later/wakes up earlier than Joe and also spends time awake in the night/napping, a bit like a cat kind of! they should maybe consider getting seperate beds but they are wayyyy too clingy w each other to consider that dfjkdjdjd. Joe's the sleepier one I think, especially before they move in w/ each other and he's overtired from training so much and probably has a bit of an unhealthy habit of denying himself sleep. he's the kind of guy to say "oh i'm fine, i'm tired but i don't need to sleep now!" and then Ziggy will play with his (remaining) hair for 2 minutes while they're watching tv together and he'll be like honk shoo honk shoo. i think in general he struggles to sleep normally but doesn't when Ziggy is there :')

very cliche but they cuddle up (under a blanket if its cold) and watch TV every night until one of them (usually Joe) starts falling asleep... Ziggy steals all of Joe's sweaters, even the ones he buys for Joe as a gift, bc they're oversized and really comfy and just like,,, feel like a big hug to him!!! Joe also lends him a pink rockers t-shirt one day so they can match at the battle of the bands and it becomes Ziggy's fav pyjamas! idk if Joe steals any of Ziggy's extensive wardrobe bc a lot of it isn't his style, though i could see him taking a liking to Ziggy's scarves :)

When they first meet and are long distance they both dream of living like,, anywhere together. basically a few days ago i was hanging out with the new people ive been making friends with from the acapella group i joined this year. we went to like a pub idk i had a few drinks in me 😁 and one of the other ppl was talking about they'd kind of been drafted into looking for nonwhite trans autistic people to do like a research project for one of their other societies theyre in idrk the details and i was like oh i cant think of anyone who ticks off all the categories off the top of my head womp womp sorry cannot help and they (and also the majorityof the group of people i was hanging out with) looked at me kinda funny and was like slowly... are u sure. and i was like ohh u think i am. well im not autistic but i believe in their beliefs (joke phrase that i say semi regularly whenever this comes up) and most of them laughed (joseph w) and one of them was like what does that even meaaaan and i was like 🤷‍♂️

Thank you for asking this, because I promise you are not the only one confused about it. It's not a silly question at all.

On Tumblr, copy/pasting another person's words into a separate post without credit, even the original post of the thread, is generally considered rude in almost all cases, especially if you don't give credit. Image descriptions are the exception.

This is because unlike other types of content, it's not really about authorship so much as it is about getting the information itself to as many people as possible. And since the original post is the one that shows up in the tags and search results, putting that description in the original post usually creates a waterfall effect (more people see the accessible version in the tags/search, more people reblog that version, more people see the reblogs of that version and continue to reblog that version, etc.).

While I can't definitively speak for every image describer on this website, I can say that I have never met one who would be offended by you taking their ID and putting it in the original post. I can confidently say the vast majority of image describers would actually be thrilled about this, and would not be concerned about credit at all.

Now, if you would like to give credit, you still can! Some people do— I've seen some end an ID they add to their post with (written by [username]), maybe even @ mentioning them. This is by no means a faux pas, but it's extra.

So next time you have someone add a description to your work, feel free to credit them or messgage them with a thank you or reblog it—all of that is okay. But the most important thing is to add it to the original post. That's what most image describers really want.

You can also take IDs from other reblogs and put it in your reblog if you are not the OP, but still don't want to reblog from the person who described the image. It's perfectly fine!

saw your post abt rapunzel manipulating tim in their convo and god hard agree it Is concerning that so many ppl didn't see it. also crazy to me that ppl are mad at tim and defending rapunzel, saying that they would have taken the book too because tim was being rude etc. to me it seemed that both tim the character and ally the player Wanted to believe that rapunzel wasn't part of the plan and was good but just kind of strange, and both are successfully fooled. tim absolutely fumbles the interaction and ally could have played things better, but rapunzel was so clearly in charge of the conversation, leading him into saying worse and worse things and putting his foot in his mouth while tim was genuinely trying to be nice. tim is awkward and blunt and eccentric with Everyone, it's weird that ppl are saying he was being singularly rude to her or patronizing her or that he deserved to get the book taken. that interaction was clumsy as hell and so many words could have been chosen better but tim so clearly was trying so hard to fix his initial fuck up and be friendly w her in the same weird way he talks to everyone. I don't see how ppl came out of that scene on her side even if tim was a little rude and unfortunate w his word choice, and it's concerning to see ppl being like "ha take that stupid old man!!" abt the book being taken + in defense of a character we met an episode and a half ago and who we have been told outright is an expert at deceiving people. the princesses are so so interesting as characters and the morals going on are complex and that's a whole different conversation, but I feel like no matter whether you love rapunzel or not, ppl should be able to recognize that she was manipulating tim in that moment and taking advantage of his trusting disposition. not trying to start discourse in your ask box ofc!!! I've just seen No One Else express discomfort w rapunzel in that scene

These were all in the replies and tags and I want to reply to all of them bc they're all worthy of being talked about bc i feel like the majority of the fandom is almost scared to critique?? So like let's talk about it since nobody else seems to be taking this approach from what I can tell (thank you to you anon for being on my side as well as the rest of you who are screaming with me) I will begin by saying that my original post is not critiquing ally the player, or any of the other players. i understand that they were in that dome, filming a session of dungeons and dragons, and improv acting and roleplaying for many hours on end with back to back episodes. i kind of get ally and the rest of the table maybe just wanting to "hope for the best", especially ally as they are quite a "hope for the good in others" type of person. it's frustrating from a viewer perspective sure, but i totally dont blame anyone ever for making a "wrong" or "non-optimal" choice while playing a ttrpg, they just have the misfortune of being filmed while doing so. i myself have made tons of bag fumbles while playing dnd, even when i thought everything through ten times over. so anything i have said or will say forward isn't to put any shouldering on to the people playing these silly storybook characters, like, i Get It

What i do want to critique is the fan response, which is the more worrying one!!! like i said in my original post, i was surprised by my d20 watch buddy having a similar response to ally. the total "oh, maybe she's just quirky bc of the self isolation, maybe she's autism rep" approach. my friend, love her to death, is also one of those "sees the best in others and hope everyone is always aiming to be their best selves" type of person, very similar to ally. i came online after that episode expecting everybody on the fanbase level to be screaming with me in a "i told you so!!" way

instead. i came online and saw people just on the attack and the defense in absolutely skewed ways!! out of NOWHERE, all these fans have come on to post about how "tim was patronizing her, and thats why she stole the book" "wow i would have hated being called girly and honey as well" "wow these conversations really didnt go their way why was tim so mean to her :(" or the opposite of "rapunzel is the evilest person to ever exist bc xyz these princesses are evil villains" or "we need to protect these princesses bc they just didnt know any better uwu"

i feel like, on a fan level, me and you anon (+all these lovely folks in the notes of that post) were the only ones screaming "hold on, that is literally not the same media i just watched"

i've seen before a lot of people be like "wow, media literacy is at an all time low" and i never really understood that until i saw the reactions after that episode. as a fan or viewer watching any media, we have the privilege of seeing more about the media than the people who are creating it. that's the best joy of being a viewer, we get to sit back and spot those foreshadowing moments and bite our nails in suspense when the music goes creepy and see the artwork and overall, we have the privilege of catching vibes that maybe those acting in it do not. this leads to those bonding moments of "i told you so" "wow im biting my nails and pacing" "oh they're gonna REGRET that". and, an "oh my god no no no do not hug her she wants to take your book god now she's feeling you up with her hair she's looking for the book ROLL INITIATIVE!!!!". it leads to glorious moments of ~dramatic irony~, a literary term for literally when something is happening in a story and the readers can catch it, but the protagonist probably didnt bc they're not seeing the full picture. While watching, from my perspective, yeah it was frustrating to watch the player bag fumble turn after turn, but it's a game of dnd, they film so many back to back, they don't get the same experience as us. however.

brennan did a great job at dropping the foreshadowing, to the point of not even so much subtly foreshadowing, he DIRECTLY TOLD THEM rapunzel was a liar and uses her words as knives. like someone pointed out, the players even PAID for that information, with the golden bridle. by the time they met these princesses, they probably knew the most about rapunzel's true nature over all the other princesses, that she uses her charisma to her advantage. the players made their choice to do the diplomatic route, to split up and chat. ally did the right thing for picking rapunzel with tim's 19 charisma stat, it would have been charisma against charisma, and an even playing field for someone they have been explicitly told is a master of words and deceit.

as fans, we've seen these episodes edited and put back to back. clues are lined up in a row. was it frustrating to see ally playing tim in a naïve way? sure. but tim's been pretty naïve this whole time, so you could stack it up to a character choice. what's more frustrating is seeing the responses of viewers being blindsided by the book thieving and chalking it all up to "evil vs good" and rapunzel's choice shaking them to their cores.

by this point in the story, by the time you get to that episode, rapunzel already gave enough bad vibes with the talk of her charismatic deceits and with her hair everywhere spying on them. maybe that last one wasn't explicitly stated, but it was heavily implied to the point of gerard writing the plans on a note instead of wanting them said out loud by elody, a scene that happened way before tim's. by the time we see rapunzel get to the kitchen, she is INSTANTLY catty. someone described her on the post as "eldritch regina george" and. yes. exactly. eldritch regina george. from our privileged spot as a viewer, rapunzel comes in, puts on the fake smile, puts on her fake tone, and says "what are you doing in here? :)". she was already ready to fight timothy. that first sentence was hostile. she was OFFENDED and checking on tim to make sure mother goose wasn't counter-spying. i honestly didnt think that would have to have been explicitly stated, she was in attack mode and plastered the fake smile for a show so that she had the upperhand in the conversation that was about to happen. this is something that fans should have at least caught on to right off the bat, we've been explicitly told that she is fake more than she is honest for the sake of being a "performative person"

the conversation happens, and she starts becoming more verbally hostile. "i dont know, what SHOULD we do hehe. it's ruined now :)" "no use in crying over spilt milk *pours milk with hair on the floor with a smile* oh no :)" "...or if it was on purpose :/ :)" "why dont you go get a mop :)" "i chose to be charming :)"

every sentence she replied with was carefully chosen. as viewers, we can watch brennan's face in full clarity of intimidation. we can have the knowledge that has been provided to not trust rapunzel as she is a charismatic spy who has words for knives. in my opinion, even without those clues before now, her show that she put on in the kitchen should have been enough as is to show that she is acting maliciously and with hostility. the smile is there as to not incite physical violence on tim's part bc then it would make TIM look like the bad guy if he attacked first. by the time she goes in for the hug. im sorry. but ally the player should have caught that, the whole table should have caught that, and-more importantly-the fans should have caught that. we all watched the same thing. we have all been told the same information. to purposefully ignore all of the red flags just to pull a "well tim was kind of mean and patronizing, and rapunzel doesnt have social skills from being locked in a tower, i forgive her, wow i didnt see that coming" is absolutely *batshit*

the lack of people catching on is what concerns me. i've met TONS of people growing up (sorry here, im all for women's wrongs, but mainly cis-girls tbh) who act like rapunzel does. from middle school and high school bullies/mean girls. mean girls at college. from parents or teachers or bosses. from normal adults in my life. they always have the same tone and inflections in the same places. the same faces with the wrinkled nose. the same sickly sweet smile. brennan played rapunzel, a known manipulator, perfectly. to a T. he embodied it fully. people JUST LIKE RAPUNZEL walk amongst us every day. i can guarantee you that even these fans that didnt catch it have met people like rapunzel in their own lives.

rapunzel is a character yes, but she is a character that mimics a masterclass manipulator. she IS the mean girl, the regina george. it leaked out of her every word, tone, and inflection. every single thing told about her and shown was, in no world, some "uwu the sweet bean was locked in a tower and doesnt have social skills". that was her origin, her start point. just like sleeping beauty locked in a castle, snow locked in her coffin. rapunzel directly says "i chose to be charming. :)." she had her origin of no social skills, her sad origin of being locked in isolation in her tower, and said "this is my greatest flaw, so i am going to dedicate my life to improving this skill bc it's what stopping me from achieving my goals." she trained her social skills to be good. too good. so good that she hopes nobody will catch her sweet charming self in the act of malicious intentions. this. was. directly. stated.

it worries me on a psychological level of the fans. yes it shows a lack of media literacy, something is frustrating on a fan-to-fan level. it shows a lack of ability of critical thinking. it shows a lack of ability to participate in dramatic irony, a necessary literary device to instill tension into a horror campaign. but also, and to what is probably my main point in this novel long hot take: it has real world implications. mean girls like rapunzel are a guarantee in life. i'm sorry, but it's true. maybe the person acts differently, maybe they aren't as obvious or more obvious. but these people walk amongst us. they use the same tone and same cadence to their words. these manipulators see what they want, and devise a way to convince the person into giving them what they want. rapunzel did not use the Charm Person spell, or the Friendship spell. She used. her words. like a normal human being. and by doing so, we as the fans were able to catch on and should have had a moment of "RUN GOOSE, RUN AWAY, NO DONT LET HER HUG YOU". but instead, a lot of people turn a blind eye to these manipulators in their lives. they pull a "aw but they have a tragic backstory, they're just confused and need love :/" "they cant be THAT bad..." they see a sweet little smile on the face and an upticked tone of voice, and go "well, they're playing nice, so now i have to play nice bc otherwise im the bad guy here" which!!! you do not!!

this is exactly how manipulators worm their ways in, this is what ALLOWS manipulation to work in its various forms. it's how people get trapped in abusive relationships. it's how people get scammed. on a personal end, i lived a narcissistic manipulator for a long time growing up, and it was exhausting. once you could put down the rose colored glasses and see right through the act, you notice how every inch of their mannerisms are performative. everything they say and do comes with the caveat of them wanting something from you and are trying to butter you up in the meantime. if you catch and call onto it, they IMMEDIATELY turn on you, they sneer and retreat to their next target who it will fool. the cycle continues, the next target is selected.

on a fan level, if we as fans cannot play into dramatic irony as a practice, if we cannot exit our seats of mind to catch on to those "eldritch regina george" quirks at the bud in a piece of fictional media where the puzzle has been handed on a silver platter, then there is a l o t more work to be done on 1) general media literacy 2) ANY fandom perception on media and 3) general awareness of how to spot and deal with manipulators in real life. if you can't catch on to it in a silly fictional ttrpg media, how do you expect to catch on to it in real life? how many of these same fans are trapped in manipulative relationships around them? how many more will they fall for bc of the "oh no but they have tragic backstory so it's forgiven uwu"? as fans, you cant sit there in the same breath saying that tim was condescending to rapunzel and then follow it up with not noticing what was ACTUALLY happening in real time. if you wanna say that rapunzel was ALLOWED to be a manipulator because of her origin, what other manipulators are you defending in your real life? how many of these manipulators continue their tricks BECAUSE they know naïve people exist and will fall for it? how many have been enabled in the same cycle bc it worked on one so it'll work on the next?

i wish i had a fun way to conclude this absolutely massive chunk of fandom critique gibberish, but i just dont. i wish i could find a more comprehensive way to scream about this, so take this post as me SCREAMING about this, anon my dm's are open if we wanna rant some more

YEAH! it's bcuz it doesnt have a Physical link to the other parts of the headspace, ykno? so like someone from the 3rd gen could go into the pillow room, even if it came before their generation, bcuz its physically connected. they could just walk until they arrive there. ykno? but like to go to somewhere thats not connected u gotta appear Right at there and to do that you gotta know Where you're appearing at (what it looks like etc) and so it's a feedback loop of cant go in there. im not sure if someone could go in there if i or someone else with access dragged them in there? so like once they saw it? we havent tried it but they probably Can, unless they have a particularly bad imagination ykwim or trouble with focusing. i mean i have troible with focuong too but its not a cant concentrate thing, it's a focused on too many things thinh. so it works

ok so (<- harbinger of doom yapping) we have like. starts counting. 7 and a half Areas in the headspace. they're WILDLY different. but like 4/7.5 is comfortable !! our headspace is a nearly equal mix of comfort/safety and Danger Mystery (™) (maybe u rmbr our poll abt that JDHDNFBRNFJENJX)

and uhhhh tbh different ppl prefer different areas? but like me in particular (mossie) (hii :3), i stay indoors usually. but like there are like at least five ppl who stay in one area so likeeeee that answer depends on whos answering ykno LOL. 3.5 areas are indoors & 3 are outdoors and one is Technically outdoors but im not sure how to classify that?
